Samsung teases powerful next generation foldable that will be the ‘Next Chapter of Ultra’
Astute followers of Samsung product launches will likely note that the launch of the next generation of Galaxy foldables, allegedly the successor to last year’s Galaxy Z Fold6, which will mostly likely be designated as the Galaxy Z Fold7 as well as the Galaxy Z Flip7 are nigh. Typically launched in August, the release hints at an earlier deployment date and hints that the next foldable will be the ‘Next Chapter of Ultra’.
What is the Next Chapter of Ultra?
The press statement drops a few tempting hints as well as the silhouette of what seems to be a large candy bar shaped-design, likely a straight front shot of the new Galaxy Z Fold7. It goes on to say that the phone will ‘provide an experience that seamlessly blends artistry and engineering to elevate everyday interactions’ and that it will not only offer ‘bigger screens, better cameras and new ways to connect and create’ that go beyond a simple list of upgraded features in a ‘smaller and more portable form factor’.
Reading between the lines, the press statement goes on to say ‘Squeeze onto a crowded subway train for your evening commute with the device folded in hand and use voice controls to have AI find you the perfect restaurant and text your dining companion. Finish off that unsent work email during the ride, then use the powerful camera to commemorate your night out. AI-powered tools enable all-day messaging, browsing and gaming on the go, so you can focus on your life—all without weighing you down.’ This hints at a camera suite with low light capabilities and likely the full Galaxy AI experience.
It’s unlikely that Samsung will be issuing a new camera design for the alleged Galaxy Z Fold7 as it usually gets deployed on the Galaxy S series Ultra models first so it will likely be a permutation of the cameras used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra or likely the Galaxy S25 Edge in some form or fashion. The statement wraps up with a quote that the ‘Ultra experience is ready to unfold’, further cementing that whatever is coming next is a foldable flagship.
